I have been so caught up in summer, which is my favorite time of year. I have always loved the sun and the heat and not having school (not so applicable now unfortunately.) This summer I have been traveling, barbecuing, taking Micaela to swimming lessons, camping, and all of that other fun summer stuff. However, this year I am ready for summer to be over. For two main reasons:

1. I agreed with Caleb that I would not go shopping all summer. Shopping is a very broad term, so we had to re-define it. I am not allowed to go shopping for clothes for myself. In other words I am allowed to buy groceries, parts for the car, birthday presents and clothes for Caleb. Which is really all I have bought this summer. My last shopping trip was in May, ok my last three shopping trips were in May, which may be why we had to make this agreement. I did cheat once, which I can admit on this blog because Caleb doesn't read my blog. When I was buying him some new golf shirts I saw a women's short sleeved sweater that was misplaced in the men's section. See I was avoiding the women's section because if I don't see anything than I won't buy anything. Somehow that sweater got misplaced in my cart, and the next thing I knew it was misplaced in my closet! Anyways, when summer is over I get to go shopping. Which is too exciting for me.

2. This came in the mail yesterday!!

Caleb and I are season ticket holders! Not quite as cheap as student ticket holders, but very exciting none the less. This was my anniversary present to him. A love of college football is one of the few things Caleb and I have in common, especially Ute football. I think my passion has intensified due to the fact my father is such an avid BYU fan! So I am ready for summer to end and fall/football/shopping to begin!

I see six home tickets in that picture, which should equal six losses for the Utes this year.

What... no shopping??? Are you nuts!!!! Maybe we can work something out where I shop for you and you shop for me. That way neither of us gets into trouble for buying clothes for ourselves.

One decent football season? Michele, where have you been for the past 20+ years?

Like I always say...I was two years old in 1984 when BYU won the national championship against a 6-6 Michigan team. I firmly believe that the 2004 Utes could have won such a title if the BCS system wasn't in place.I don't recall any significant BYU seasons since I've been out of high school...

We definitely should do that Michele... we will have to when we go out to dinner in a couple weeks:) And I will tell Justin to start signing when it is him making the Ute comment. He gets a little more mean than I do:)

I can't wait for all the trash talk between you guys this football season :) It should be very entertaining. So Michele, did your lack of shopping (with the exception of that one sweater that happened to find its way into your cart) help you save some money as you were hoping to do? Happy shopping at the end of this summer!

Todd and I will be routing for the team with the #1 offense...Go Louisville! (This will keep us out of the whole BYU/UTAH debate.

Meagan, you must choose one side or the other. BYU or utah. There will be no fence sitters around here!

We are bonafide "fence sitters" as you would call it. Todd says he roots for both being that he grew up in W. Jordan but later came around when he went to BYU. Me? BYU didn't want me so why should I root for them? He He. I will have to stick to my Aggies as sad as their seasons always are :(

The Oregon State game worked out for you well. I bet you are excited for at least six games of Brett Engemann clone Tommy Grady. In all seriousness, injuries suck. At least you have UNLV, Air Force, and Utah State sandwiched between UCLA and Louisville. So you can probably survive until you get Johnson back (hopefully). If he doesn't come back...long season.

But the thing that really got me was how the Utes were cramping up like they were playing in Louisiana at noon in July. I know it was hot, but Oregon in the evening ain't exactly the tropics. Nice conditioning, Utes.

At least you got four good carries our of Asiata this season. You can always treasure those moments.
