I've been procrastinating blogging about Micaela's Halloween costume because it is still a sore subject. While we were in Disneyland we decided Micaela should be Jessi, or yee-haw as Micaela so fondly refers to her as. Jessi is the little cowgirl from Toy Story 2, which is probably Micaela's favorite movie, depending on the day of course. We found this adorable costume online and ordered it two weeks in advance. It must have shipped from out of the country because it had an arrival date the day before Halloween. That was a problem because she had costume parties to go the the weekend before Halloween, and when we realized it didn't come in time, we went to Target and browsed through the costumes that were left. She could have been either a power ranger or a cheerleader. We picked cheerleader, because it didn't matter because her real costume would come in time for her gymnastics party and trick-or-treating. It came...two sizes too big. So needless to say I've moved on, the costume will be stored for next year, or the year after, and Micaela was a cheerleader for Halloween.

Caleb had to work Halloween night, which was disappointing as well. However, Trick-Or-Treating in our neighborhood was very fun. I was amazed at how detailed and scary some of the houses were. We went to several houses that had little spook allies set up in their lawns. Micaela's favorite was one that was set up as a "blood drive" with a white tent (covered in blood) and mangled bodies inside. They actually had their bowl of candy in the gut of the body. Oh and there were teenage girls dressed in white sheets with blood all over scaring the kids. They were really sweet to Micaela and she just kept cheerfully saying "mama its scareeee!" The next day Caleb said all she could talk about was monsters, scareee, and candy bars. So I guess she gets Halloween.
